A total mixed bag today at El Porto.  I met a few friends of the site (Hey!), had a celebrity sighting, but I also dinged Aaron’s and my board (totally my fault).  It was weird, I was super jazzed getting into the water, and then bummed when I got out. Rolling into the parking lot [...]

In like of Mike’s recent ding, I was wondering how you all fix your dings.  I know I’ve done everything from cramming wax into the hole, to using Suncure and sandpaper, to taking in to the shaper who created the board in the first place.  But lately, I’ve really been interested in learning some proper [...]

Poor Mike had a collision with a buddy today while surfing.  Took a significant gash out of the bottom of the board.  It’s funny how right-of-way rules go right out the window with friends sometimes.  Though, Mike said he didn’t even notice the ding until after he’d gotten out of the water.  (Looks like it’s [...]

My Spherical Revolver made its triumphant return to the ocean today!  Unfortunately, the swell didn’t quite cooperate.  The waves were good size today, but like yesterday they just didn’t have the umph to pick us up.  The waves would roll up and look all delicious.  Donnie and I would be tempted by their siren song [...]

Donnie just got back from Maui and called me wanting to jump back into the water. I was in. But most of today’s adventure happened before we even got into the water (which was cold!). First while packing up the boards in Donnie’s truck the bungee cord slipped and clanged off the rail on my [...]

A recent trip to Sunset Blvd I had a mishap in a wave and I got tangled up with my bro Josh. Kruise-chev (my long board with a very troubled past)  was left with another huge ding.  I picked up a Ding All Super Kit so I could do the necessary repairs at home.  I [...]

Josh and I paddled out for a session at Sunset this morning.  Conditions were pretty much a reset of yesterday, except it was a lot more crowded.  Pretty calm, clean,  slightly textured 2s and 3s with bigger sets rolling through every 15 or 20 minutes.  The waves were a bit more consistent today, and on [...]
